I have been busy with work and taking other pictures. I also have been thinking about selling some of my pictures. Galleries are looking for things like that and I know there are magazines too. I never really thought about it much, but it is something that I have been thinking about lately.

Work was normal today, so it didn’t really feel like my birthday. I didn’t tell anyone at work about it, though I didn’t see many of them either. I had some pictures I needed to take and then develop. I got home and took Tripod outside.

Tripod goes running to the woods then veers to the loch. He doesn’t jump into the water this time, but just splashes around the edge of the water.

Since it is nice weather, Luna and I took Tripod to the park. Luna brought a book, though decided to nap while I played fetch with Tripod, using a ball instead of the frisbee, though I did bring that with me.

We have been playing for a little while, my trying to keep Tripod away from Luna so she can sleep in her patch of sun without her bounding on her, asking to play, when Tripod suddenly lets out a happy, excited bark and runs off toward a person on a bench reading a book.

"Tripod!" I shout and chase after him. Maybe we should look into obedience school for him.

Now that the weather is getting nicer, I am spending more time outside with Tripod. He's quite happy about that. So am I actually. Now when I take him out, I bring my camera too, to take pictures of spring. Technically it isn't spring yet, but it is clearly close to becoming spring.

I don't take a lot of pictures this time though. I went to the store after work and bought a ball and a frisbee to play fetch. I bring both out and he seems much more interested in the frisbee so I throw it for him.

I look over everything one last time. The portkey is in my pocket, set to go off at the right time. I also have my bag and her bag which are packed. Tripod is with Ron and his roommate, Kevin, and Peleira is here, but has everything she will need. Herbert is also here, but will be fine until we come back. I have gifts for Valentine’s Day and her birthday, which are in the suitcase. My camera and film are there and the information I need is in my pocket. I check and feel the paper with my hand. Yes, still there. Now, I can go surprise Luna at work and bring her back here. We have enough time to have dinner, which I made and the cake, which Abby helped me with. I climb up the ladder to the hut and quickly disapparate.

January passed quickly and it is already February, which means there are two things happening in just a short time. One of them is Luna's birthday and the second is the trip we have discussed taking, much like we did last year.

I sigh and then stomp my feet and rub my hands together. It's chilly tonight and Tripod is clearly enjoying running around in the snow. He's already covered in it since he dove into the first snowbank he could find.

"Come on, Tripod, it's cold!" I call to him. We’ve been out here a few minutes and he seems he isn’t ready to come back in. And the cold doesn't seem to be bothering him at all.

I wait for the car with Dad, Abby and Dennis to get here, stomping my feet periodically. It should be any time now, but it is cold this time for year in Scotland.

Tripod sits next to me and then I see his ears perk up. He hears the car before I do and when it pulls up and parks, there is a rush of excitement. Dennis it out of the car first and then Dad and Abby follow, both hugging me in the process before turning their attention to the over excited dog, who clearly likes meeting these new people. "Come in," I motion toward the hut after I manage to pick up Tripod.

It is Sunday and while Luna and I always spend it together, she could tell I wanted to work on the photos I took last night for the wedding, so told me I should start on them. I don't really know what Megan and Charlie plan on doing for the holidays or anything, but I would like to get these to them before the new year.

I glance at the note that is sitting in front of me. I never get personal letters, except from Dad, Abby or Dennis, but it isn't one of them. I can tell that from the unfamiliar handwriting on the front of the letter. Opening it, I vaguely remember the name at the bottom.

We've had Tripod longer than we should have for a trial run. However, since we decided to keep him, I know we will have to tell someone. So, after work today, I went home and got Tripod. He was happy when I got him on the leash and carried him up the stairs. However, he seemed confused that we weren't going to play. I keep him in my arms and we apparate to the same place we used last time we went to the shelter.

I set Tripod down and he happily followed beside me, tail wagging. However, as we near the shelter, he pauses and his tail stops wagging. He gives a soft whimper and moves closer to me, looking up at me with worried eyes.

I pick up the tennis ball that I got and throw it. "Fetch." Tripod dashes after it. He's done well getting around with only three legs. He might not be as fast as the others, but he does well and loves to run around. We're at a muggle park where there are a few other people, though not as many as in the summer.

Luna smiles as she watches Tripod skid to a stop and toss the ball up in the air to catch it. “It’s a little different from playing at home.”

I toss the stick and Tripod races after it, almost as fast as he would if he had four legs. He's really changed since he got here. He is still well behaved, but seems to have more energy and is very affectionate. He also gets along very well with Peliera.

I get done with work a bit earlier than usual, which is nice compared to the times I have gotten done later than planned.

When I apparate to Ness Keep, I am greeted by Tripod. He seems to be doing better, even though it has only been a few days. He's behaved today too. I was a bit worried that he might chew on things, I've heard of dogs doing that, but he hasn't done that.

I wake up slowly, then remember, we have a dog.

I don't know how he is doing. We left him in his dog bed, but that was last night. I kiss Luna gently and slip out of bed. After I check on Tripod, I'll make breakfast.

I get off work early and nearly run out of the Ministry. I don't actually run, since I could collide with someone, but I hurry. As soon as I find a place to apparate, I apparate back to Ness Keep. "Luna?" I call. I know she was going to get off early, but I might have made it home before her.

Just then, I hear the trapdoor open and Luna’s small feet running down the metal spiral stairs. “Colin?” she calls out.

"Down here!" I call, picking up the paperwork we filled out yesterday.

“Are you ready?” she asks, hurrying into the room and bending down to stroke her black cat.

"I've been ready all day," I grin.

I'm balancing the tea and biscuits into the library. We were gong to go outside, but the weather wasn't cooperating and we decided not to go out in the rain. So, we are staying inside today and Luna suggested a book. I thought it would be a nice way to relax and unwind before starting another work week.

I apparate to Ness Keep, feeling more exhausted than I have in a long time. I did get sick once again while developing the photos. I hate to admit it, but even with precautions, it wasn’t possible to completely stop those things.

I put the photographs on Moody’s desk before I left so he will have them in the morning. I didn’t want to develop them, but I thought if I did them tonight, I won’t have to dread doing it tomorrow morning.

Pulling up the trap door, I climb down the ladder, closing the door behind me before slowly walking down the stairs. It after dinner time, so I know that Luna is probably home. “Luna?” I call.

It’s getting cold, but Luna and I are still outside as much as we can be. She’s sleeping right now and I covered her with the second blanket we brought up. I’m tired, but was more hungry, so I helped myself to some food we brought up with us.

I look through the bag and pull out an apple. I brush it off on my shirt. Very nice. I go to take a bite then hear a sound from behind me. I turn to look and don’t see anything. Odd. Then, I hear a crunching sound.

Spinning around, I see half my apple gone and a crunching sound still. The top half was just bitten off. Then, I feel something touch my hand and the rest of the apple disappears with the same crunching sound.

This is it. Why am I the one leading though? I might fall or trip or something. I let out a deep breath as I hear the singing start. It’s a bit eerie, echoing like that. I can’t really tell where it is coming from. Fitting though, since it seems to come from all over.

I start to walk down the aisle, seeing various people on either side, sitting in groups on the various sized poufs spread around. I glance forward and see that the priestess is already there at the front, waiting for us. I see a flash from the camera, which Caley is carrying around.
